West End returned to the scene of their extra-time drama to face Branston’s first string in a separate cup competition. The visitors were missing some key players and never really competed with a composed Branston side. Things may have been different if, with the scores were level at 0-0, player-manager Andy Kirk hadn’t had his penalty saved, but in the end Branston were worthy winners despite a good effort from West End.
Line-up (4-4-2): Adam Bierton; Mark Anderson, Mike Smith, Liam Phelan, Liam Collinwood; Jonny Dyas, Glen Wilson, Andy Kirk, Chris Dewey; Mike Northern, Sam McDonnell
Man of the Match: Johnny Dyas; Played well trying to contain the Branston playmaker.
Dick of the Day: Andy Kirk; You miss a penalty you get dick of the day, no arguments.
