The Lincoln & District Sunday Football League today released the fixtures for the 2012/13 season.
AFC will begin their campaign with a home tie against FC Vodafone on Sunday September 2nd.
The draws for the first round of the league’s cup competitions were also made. AFC begin in the Jock Mitchell Memorial trophy on September 16th with a home game against division five side FC Centurion. In the Ron Eaglen Challenge Cup West End face a difficult trip to Premier Division side Welton S&SC on November 11th.
The fixture list has this year been scheduled without the early season midweek game which proved successful last year.

The cold weather continues in Lincoln meaning AFC West End have now gone a month since their last competitive outing. This Sunday’s planned fixture with George & Dragon has now been postponed, following in the wake of the twice postponed cup tie with AFC Rustons. The Beers will try for a third time to face AFC Rustons in the Fred Quibbell Junior Cup next weekend, Sunday 17th January. The postponements have already added two weeks onto West End’s season with the George & Dragon game rearranged for Sunday 18th April and the match with Metheringham Reserves, originally scheduled for 17th January now moved to Sunday 25th April.
AFC West End have been handed a home match against familiar foes to kick-off the new season. The Lincoln Sunday Football League fixtures released today have given West End a home game against Dynamo Varsity to begin the new campaign. However, The Beers will have to wait longer than most to sink their teeth into the 2009/2010 season as they have no match scheduled for the opening day of Sunday 6th September and instead will have to wait until the 13th before hosting Dynamo on the West Common. With the new season now just days away AFC West End’s fixture list has undergone a slight makeover. The most pressing news is that the wait for the 2008/2009 season kick-off will now be a few hours longer as Sunday’s opening match at Tavern FC has been scheduled as an afternoon kick-off. As such AFC West End will now travel to Bishop Grosseteste College for a 1:30pm kick-off. Continue Reading
