AFC’s pre-season campaign came to a close today with a respectable 1-1 draw with De Wint. Details are below of the last five of West End’s six pre-season matches.
AFC West End 3-3 Metheringham
AFC battled to a draw with Metheringham with Paul Crampton star of the show netting a hat-trick.
Hykeham Tigers 4-0 AFC West End
Despite a decent start West End failed to get to grips with Hykeham Tigers and were beaten 4-0.
Newtoft Terriers 0-3 AFC West End
The only victory in pre-season was a good omen for West End as it came against their opponents for the opening day of the league season. Goals came in the first half Rich Dungworth with the first followed by a double from Sam McDonnell.
Millers Arms 11-0 AFC West End
Millers Arms continued their impressive pre-season battering AFC 11-0. The Division Six side looked capable of playing at a far higher level and will be favorites for promotion.
AFC West End 1-1 De Wint
Following the heavy defeat to Millers Arms, AFC bounced back in style against De Wint. They took the lead when Ady Gray stabbed home a corner, and were only pegged back late on following a mistake.
