Beers End Season On High With Barrel Point

With nothing left to play for and fifth position all but secured AFC went into their last game of the season in positive mood. They took on their local rivals from the West Common Green Barrel, who they had begun their season against back in September. Ady Gray, Rob Davies, Oliver Conway, John  Purdy and James Dewhurst were all absent, giving Glen Wilson and Dan Hill chances to rejoin the squad. Heighington Defeat Ends Forgettable Week For West End

AFC completed a miserable week with an away defeat at Heighington. Despite a decent start which saw AFC create a couple of decent chances on the counter-attack, AFC went in at half-time 2-0 down. Midweek Maiming For Sub Par West End

AFC West End were well beaten by an impressive Market Rasen side in the Beers’ only midweek game of the season. In form Market Rasen were consistently two steps ahead of West End who never managed to make their mark on the game. Rasen’s opener was a stunning strike from the edge of the box whilst the other goals all seemed relatively avoidable. West End’s solitary reply came from Rich Dungworth who headed home a free kick by Jack McDonnell. Continue Reading
