Further disappointment for AFC West End, as the Beers rocked by unavailability and injury slipped to a second successive 3-2 defeat in Division Three. This week’s defeat was to be arguably more frustrating than last Sunday’s 3-2 loss to league leaders FVA Jerusalem as West End actually led Burtons 2-0 at the break. Disappointment for AFC West End as they lose out to the league leaders FVA Jerusalem Reserves by the odd goal in five in a competitive fixture on the West Common. Hampered again by unavailability West End were forced to shuffle their pack within the starting eleven, but still suceded in taking the game to their opponents. The central midfield pairing of Richie Phillips and Nick Kay proving particularly adept at winning the ball and getting the Beers playing some neat football. Continue Reading
AFC West End made the short away trip up the hill to Sobraon to face George & Dragon with a couple of late additions having brought the side up to a bare XI. Things were to get worse before they got better as well with Martin Robinson aggravating a foot injury in the warm-up and having to don the gloves for the morning, Liam Tonks taking over at left back.
