One of the club’s quietest members Sam joined AFC West End in October 2007 having previously been spotted playing in Viva Futbol for the Lincoln Bankers. After a solid debut in the cup win over FC Tennyson Sam settled into the West End midfield effectively filling the holding role vacated by former captain Jonny Dyas. A hard-working midfielder he capped a great start to his club career with a brilliant solo goal against Travellers Rest Reserves. Though often limited to cameos from the bench Sam could still be relied on to bring a sizable presence to the West End midfield and also deliver his trade mark finish; taking time to weigh up his options before leathering the ball into the net as hard as possible.
